Vitronics Soltec Delta 3 Wavesoldering Wins Coveted Global Technology Award
Global soldering technology leader Vitronics Soltec won a coveted Global Technology Award for its hard-working affordable Delta 3 wavesoldering system, introduced late last year. The award was presented by Global SMT & Packaging Magazine’s Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Trevor Galbraith during a Tuesday, August 19, 2008 ceremony that took place during the SMTA International exhibition and conference in Orlando, FL.
Delta 3 is based on the proven concepts of the Delta platform, long a high-reliability favorite, but now offered at a more affordable price, due to Vitronics Soltec’s global manufacturing distribution. Delta 3 offers a very low cost of ownership for faster payback. Delta 3 features EasyUse, a user-friendly, real-time operator machine interface that is easy to learn and use. EasyUse makes programming, setup, and process changes easier and the entire process more configurable.
Closed-loop thermal controls maintain steady solder and (3-zone configurable) preheat temperatures. Constant computer monitoring of wave height, flux volume, and board temperature ensure repeatable processing and high first-pass yields. Extra features include wave push-up, wire support and crash detection. Delta 3 also features a unique solder pot design and dross management system. Strictly controlled preheating and fluxing, plus a more tightly controlled wave soldering process and atmosphere control make the new Delta 3 fully lead-free capable.
The Global Technology Awards recognize the very best new innovations in the printed circuit assembly and packaging industries.
